National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

is an essential course for anyone considering a career in the leisure industry and the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the United Kingdom and Ireland that complies with the industry guidance.

The NPLQ is a recruitment requirement for a number of jobs from Pool Lifeguard to Leisure Centre Manager and includes first aid training and water rescue skills desirable when taking part or leading a number activities.

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years at the start of the Exam on day five and it is essential candidates are capable of the following swimming criteria before attending the course.

Jump/dive into deep water Swim 50m in less than 1 minute Swim 100m continuously on the front then on the back (total 200m) Tread water in deep water for more than 30 seconds Climb out of the pool unaided, without using the steps or a ladder

Candidates will be removed from the course without refund if they fail to achieve this minimum standard in the pool on day one. If you are unsure of your ability in the pool please contact Ray on 07899 982079 prior to signing up.
